After the series 1 and 2 of the Race film in 2015, director Jodi Abbas-Mustan chose Saif Ali Khan for his main role to make his third sequel. In 2016, producer Ramesh Torani decided to take Salman Khan in the film for the race 3, but Salman refused to do the film and the writer of Race 3 asked Ramesh to make some changes in the film’s story. On May 15, 2018, during the trailer launch of the movie, Salman Khan himself had correctly told these events in the past. Salman Khan’s condition was that to become part of Race 3, the film’s choreographer & directed by Remo D’Souza. Katrina Kaif, Jacqueline Fernandez and Deepika Padukone were selected to work opposite Salman Khan, and in August 2017, Jacqueline Fernandez was selected for the role finally. For the performed action scenes in the film, Jacqueline took martial arts training.
