Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is an upcoming Bollywood film. The film is based on the 17th century Indian history. We are well known to Maharaja Chhatrapati Shivji Maharaj of the Maratha Empire that this film is a glimpse of Indian history based on his commander Tanhaji.

In this film, Ajay Devgan will be seen in the role of Tanhaji. Along with him, veteran actors like Saif Ali Khan, Kajol, Jagapathi Babu, Pankaj Tripathi and Sharad Kelkar will appear in this film. The film is directed by Om Raut.

The film was launched on 25 September 2018 and the film was scheduled to arrive in Indian cinemas by 27 December 2019 but its release date has been extended to 10 January 2020.

At the end of the 17th century, the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb was making all efforts to establish terror and his authority in the whole of India. The Kondhana Fort, which is located near Pune, was declared by Aurangzeb as the capital of southern India, from where he Planned to expand the Mughal Empire in South India.

However, the Maratha emperor Shivaji Maharaj ordered his commander, Tanaji Malusare, to capture Kondhana at any cost, to protect South India from the Mughal invasion, while the Mughal emperor sent his trusted commander Udayabhan to protect the fort. The battle is known as the Battle of Sinhagad which decided the fate of South India. This war was fought on 4 February 1670 at midnight at the Sinhagad Fort near Pune.
